Jamaican Patties Explained
The flaky, turmeric-gold pastry Jamaicans eat on the move: what is inside, and where it came from.
What it is
A half-moon of flaky pastry, tinted gold with turmeric or annatto, wrapped around a well-spiced filling of beef, chicken or vegetables, and baked. Eaten by hand, often with coco bread.
